Unity Cup 2024

 

BACKGROUND

Unity Cup is a bi-annual golf event held by private individuals targeted towards the worldwide Khoja Shai Ithanasheri golfers to determine the best community golfer.  This is the Sixth Unity Cup, the first held in 2011, the second in 2013 held in Dubai and the third held in Belek, Turkey,the fourth held in Ajman UAE and the last one was in Cape Town, South Africa 2019.  The Unity Cup is now venturing closer to its roots.

DATES OF THE TOURNAMENT

The dates of the tournament will be arrival Sunday 5^th May 2024 and departure 11^th May 2024.  Golf shall be on the days of 6^th May to 10^th May (inclusive), 

INVITEES TO THE TOURNAMENT

The golfers may bring their families (and/or friends) before, during and may stay after the event at the same hotel and be part of the group, the prices for which have been indicated upon registration.  We have booked for 60 playing golfers and unlimited family members.  Please send the request for families with names, relationship, and if they are over/under 12 years old.  We expect Ithanasheries to take up the 54 spaces, however, if there is any spaces left after the registration deadline, the organizers will offer the unutilized spaces to non-community players.  Should anyone know non community golfers that would like to join, please send the request to me.   

Gentlemen, Ladies and juniors have played in the past, however, this is a Men’s event thus all participants will play of the Men’s tees and will qualify for the main prizes.

Should we have enough ladies and juniors interested then we will organize a separate event for them subject to numbers.

This will be announced only after registration is completed.

Ladies will then play for a separate ladies prize and juniors will play with a local caddies/guide per group but will not have carts and will walk all the days.

COSTS, CONFIRMATION DATES, PAYMENT MODALITY AND REGISTRATION

Cost of Entry for Golfers is USD 1200. Cost for non-golfers is USD 600.   All prices are on a shared basis.  Please advise on the registration form who you wish to share with, and we will allocate on that basis.  We shall be staying at Kenzi Rose Garden, Marrakesh. www.kenzi-hotels.com/kenzi-rose-garden

For a single supplement the additional cost is UDS 300 in addition to the USD 1200.

Registration begins on 17^th January 2024 and payment confirmation final date: 15^th March 2024.

Only registered and paid golfers will be confirmed.  Registration will be closed after the first 60 golfer registration on a first come first served basis.

Once you register an invoice will be generated and we will be informed of your registration.  Once you have made payment to your respective country organizers only then will you be included on the participants list.

Any additional costs for additional nights or upgrades to suites we will help organize this with the hotel directly.

 

NON GOLFERS/EXTRA DAYS

Partners and friends can join the gathering at a cost of USD 600 for the period 5^th May 2024 to 11^th May 2024.   The rates are on sharing basis.  The partners/friend should be booked thru Event Caddy.  

FORMAT OF PLAY AND DIVISIONS

There shall be 3 divisions comprising of 20 players in each division. The divisions will be estimated based on handicaps so 20 lowest will be A division 20 Mid will be B division and 20 highest will be C division.  Maximum handicap to be 24 (men) and 28 (female). Tournament will be played on ¾  of the handicap.  

The individual handicaps to be from a recognized Handicap System such as Grint, VPAR or HNA.

The tournament will be over 4 rounds where the score of the best 2 out of the first 3 rounds plus the 4 round will count.  The scoring will based on Stable ford format.

                                                The closing Ceremony will be in the evening of 10^th May 2024 venue TBC

Bed/Breakfast are covered in the price of the entry fee for the time at the Hotel.  Apart from opening, closing and the golf rounds, all participants are free to do as they wish.

You will be eligible to win one of the trophies above as we want to share them between as many players as possible.  This will be the same for each day Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive.

WHATS INCLUDED / WHAT IS NOT

Included in the price of entry fee is 6 nights’ accommodation from 5^th May 2024 to 11^th May 2024 , ie arrival to 11^th May departure  on sharing basis. Bed/Breakfast, and Transport to / from Hotel/golf course, golf carts and green fees, Opening and Closing Ceremony are covered in the entry fees.

Not included in the price is Dinners, Flights, Airport transfers and sightseeing (if any)

IMPORTANT: At time of registration please advise us if you will be renting or requiring transport to/for Golf Courses and Hotel.
