StepUp Youth Ambassadors Program
StepUp Youth Volunteer Ambassadors are a dynamic group of students grades 7-12 who boost volunteerism in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon (Peel region). They support the mission of Volunteer MBC by spreading the word about how people can participate and engage in their communities and by embracing the power of volunteerism. Along the way, they gain knowledge, develop and showcase their skills, and look cool doing it. We collaboratively organize events, match volunteers with friends and inspire our peers to do something positive to transform the world around us.
Youth LEaD Program
The Youth LEaD program is a training program designed to give high school youth the relevant skills they need to make a difference in their community. By bringing the theoretical and practical together, youth can learn both what to do and why to do it that way. We use best practices from the voluntary sector to educate students. Training is delivered on-demand. When organizations, students, teachers or youth groups request the training, we endeavour to bring it to them. Youth LEaD can be provided in four modules and designed in six or eight unique workshops. Youth LEaD always includes hands-on learning and caring component when it culminates in a unique community service project produced by these future leaders. Since 2017 implementation, over 100 youths have benefited from the learning component which has translated to over 300 youth volunteering instances.
Volunteer MBC needs your support and participation in our golf tournament so that we can continue to provide youth with developmental skills and opportunities to address the social issues in our community and help them become the leaders of tomorrow.
