From Personal Triumph to Community Mission: The Second Annual Whitman Family Golf Outing and Fundraiser

In 2024, Jackie Whitman faced an extraordinary battle that would not only transform her life but inspire a movement of compassion and community support. After being admitted to Saratoga Hospital with pneumonia, Jackie's condition rapidly progressed to septic shock and heart failure, leading to an emergency airlift to Westchester Medical Center. Through 16 grueling days in Emergency/Intensive Care, Jackie demonstrated remarkable resilience, but the journey would require even more strength as she faced multiple surgeries, including partial amputation of her fingers and both legs below the knees.

Throughout her challenging journey, Jackie's unwavering spirit and the overwhelming support from her community sparked a vision larger than herself. As a devoted wife and mother of three, she recognized that while she was fortunate to have a strong support system, many families face similar medical crises without the necessary resources or community backing.

This realization led to the establishment of The Whitman Foundation, transforming personal adversity into hope for others. Founded on September 5, 2024, and formally acknowledged as a 501c3 charitable organization as of December 9, 2024 by the IRS, the Foundation now stands as a testament to Jackie's resilience and her commitment to supporting families facing unexpected health challenges. Its mission is to provide financial assistance, creating a network of compassionate support for those navigating the overwhelming burden of medical expenses while focusing on recovery.

The Second Annual Whitman Family Golf Outing and Fundraiser celebrates not only Jackie's incredible journey, but also marks a new chapter in the Foundation's mission to serve our community. This year's event will help establish and grow the Foundation's ability to provide crucial support to eligible families facing similar challenges, working toward our goal of reducing the difficult choices between health and financial stability.

Join us for an inspiring day of golf, community, and purpose as we honor Jackie's journey while building a legacy of hope and support for others. Together, we can create a stronger, more compassionate community where medical crises do not need to mean financial devastation.

Your participation and support will help The Whitman Foundation continue its vital mission of providing hope and assistance to families in their time of greatest need.

We cannot wait to see you on the course at The Whitman!

With Gratitude and Hope,

The Whitman Foundation

Building a Legacy of Impact: The Whitman Foundation's Vision for 2025

The Second Annual Whitman Family Golf Outing and Fundraiser aims to expand The Whitman Foundation's ability to serve our community with compassion and purpose. This ambitious goal reflects our commitment to not only continue our core mission of supporting families during medical crises but also to create lasting, meaningful impact through education.

At the heart of our 2025 initiatives is the establishment of a robust Financial Assistance Fund. This cornerstone program will provide immediate financial support to families facing unexpected medical challenges, covering critical expenses from medical bills to household necessities. We understand that during health crises, families shouldn't have to choose between medical care and keeping their lights on or maintaining a roof over their heads.

Building on the vision, we are proud to announce the creation of The Whitman Foundation Scholarship Program. This new initiative will recognize and support graduating seniors from Saratoga Springs School District who exemplify the spirit of resilience and leadership that Jackie Whitman has demonstrated throughout her life. The scholarship will be awarded to a female student athelete who has shown exceptional dedication and execution in athletics, while balancing both academics and community service, helping to nurture the next generation of community leaders.

To ensure sustainable, long-term impact, we are developing partnerships with local healthcare providers and community organizations, creating a comprehensive support network for families in crisis. This collaborative approach will allow us to maximize our resources and reach more families in need while building a model for sustainable assistance that can grow with our community's needs.

Through community engagement programs, we aim to raise awareness about navigating medical crisis and life altering transformations, while creating meaningful volunteer opportunities within the foundation. By fostering these connections, we strengthen not only our ability to serve but also the bonds that make our community resilient.

Your participation in this year's Golf Outing and Fundraiser directly supports these vital initiatives, helping us build a legacy of hope, education, and community support that will benefit generations to come. Together, we can transform challenges into opportunities and create lasting positive change in our community.

Join us in making these goals a reality.
