About the Gregory C. Wolf Memorial Scholarship

The Gregory C. Wolf Memorial Scholarship at the University of Cincinnati has been created to honor the memory of Gregory C. Wolf and his passion for UC Athletics. The scholarships Greg received as a student at UC made a huge impact on his life and his passion for giving to others lives on by supporting University of Cincinnati Athletics. The proceeds from the memorial scholarship go directly to supporting student athletes who participate in bearcat athletics.

The Gregory C. Wolf Strength in Unity Scholarship for a football walk-on has been created.  Greg was a football walk-on who received a scholarship after his freshman year.  He believed this scholarship and the opportunity to play football at UC provided immeasurable opportunities.   He often said the relationships he built with friends, faculty, staff and alumni on and off the field helped to shape his future. Because of this, Greg had a passion for UC that strongly inspired him to give back.  He would be so honored to pass the Bearcat traditions on to the next generation.  What an amazing legacy.

In the spirit of gratitude, the previous recipients of the Gregory C. Wolf Strength in Unity Scholarship is senior Line Backer, Ryan Royer #35 and Basketball Player Viktor Lahkin

About Ryan

Ryan is a mechanical engineering student and will graduate in April and will begin his engineering career at GE.  Recently he was tapped into the men’s honorary Sigma Sigma.  He has participated in the co-op program at UC in the Micro and Nanotechnology lab and at Valco Melton an adhesives company.  Greg often spoke about the lifelong friendships from football and would have loved this quote from Ryan, “I love the game, but you’re not going to remember your stats…you’re going to remember the people.  It’s a special camaraderie that you have with your teammates and I’m going to have lifelong friends from football.”   In this, we believe he and Ryan are kindred spirits who greatly value the people and friendships made during their time at UC.  Next truly does live here.
