Lambda Chi Alpha Charity Golf Classic

The 1st Annual Lambda Chi Alpha Charity Golf Classic was a massive success with clear skies, endless drinks, and surprisingly no property damage! Held at El Camino Country Club in Oceanside, CA, on Monday, February 24, 2025, this tournament marked the grand return of Zeta Pi Zeta’s legendary charity golf events, originally hosted by Eric Harper and Todd Swint from 2005 to 2007. This year, we welcomed 88 golfers, including alumni from SDSU, UCSD, USD, UCLA, and Cal Poly, all united in raising money for veterans. Proceeds from the event support the Warrior for Peace Foundation, founded by Lambda Chi alumni. This incredible organization hosts an annual deep-sea fishing trip that provides veterans with a peaceful day on the water to connect with fellow servicemen and women. As part of our event, we proudly sponsored two foursomes of veterans to golf.

Golfers and volunteers arrived at 11 AM to check in and enjoy bagels and coffee generously donated by Big City Bagels and Café Moto. Fifteen SDSU Kappa Alpha Theta cart girls helped with registration, tournament games, and keeping drinks stocked throughout the day. The four-man scramble tournament teed off at 1 PM, followed by a taco bar dinner and awards ceremony at 5 PM. Golfers bid on incredible silent auction items throughout the day, including four VIP Padres tickets, San Diego biplane sky tours, a fishing trip for four, and several Cobra golf clubs. Thanks to the generosity of our players, sponsors, and donors, we raised over $20,000 in net proceeds for the Warrior for Peace Foundation.
