THE “SAINTS” STORY

On Melbourne Cup Day 1982, St Marys Rugby League Club opened its doors on the Corner of Forrester & Boronia Rds St Marys, fulfilling a two-decade dream of the inaugural Club Board and soon becoming the social centrepiece of the local district.

The Club has gone from strength to strength and today St Marys Rugby League Club is proud to provide services to more than 40,000 Members, being guided by the same purpose over the years, to be a community Club, first and foremost.

On Melbourne Cup Day 2022, St Marys Rugby League Club will celebrate its 40th birthday. This coincides with the opening of its latest development, The Western Foyer and Events Centre.

The completion of the development will be the Clubs crowning jewel and the realisation of another long-term dream.

The Clubs facilities are equal to any other hospitality venue in Australia and our 40,000 members are very proud of their Club. From humble beginnings our Club now boasts 4 restaurants, 5 bars, lounge areas, one of the best outdoor terraces in Sydney, weekend family fun at Go Bananas, Sydney’s newest     American styled sports bar, and a world-class Event Centre.

In addition, the 4-star globally branded Holiday Inn Sydney St Marys is owned and operated by the Club and is located adjacent.

Whilst the licenced Club is relatively young, our rugby league roots can be traced back to 1908.

Over the last 100 years Saints has developed into a rugby league powerhouse, in 2022 proudly supporting and nurturing the development of 60 rugby league sides from under 5’s through to the Ron Massey Cup. With over 1,000 players; we are regarded as one of the most successful rugby league clubs in the history of the game.

The Club is also very proud of its association with Panthers and being integral in their pathways program through our Ron Massey Cup team.

Saints has a well-respected and considered approach to our social responsibility. This is achieved by actively delivering on our Clubs values and mission statement “to make a significant difference to the social and economic wellbeing of our community”.

While Saints has grown over the years, we still pay homage to our proud history both on and off the field. We invite you to enjoy the new facilities and experience our friendly Saints hospitality for yourself.
